If you’re looking for a quick and healthy treat, these 5-ingredient brownies are a must-try! They’re vegan, gluten-free, and flourless, making them a guilt-free dessert option. Plus, they only take a few minutes to prepare. Let’s dive into the recipe!
Ingredients
- 2 bananas (mashed)
- 1/2 cup smooth peanut butter or almond butter (120 ml)
- 3 tablespoons maple syrup or your favorite liquid sweetener (optional)
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cacao powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Optional Toppings:
- 2 tablespoons 80% dark chocolate chunks
Instructions
1. Prepare the Batter
- Start by adding the mashed bananas to a blender. This will help make the batter extra smooth.
- Add the smooth peanut or almond butter to the blender. Make sure to use creamy nut butter for a moist brownie texture.
- Pour in the optional sweetener, if you’re using one. I recommend 3 tablespoons of maple syrup.
- Add 3 tablespoons of unsweetened cacao powder and 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder to the blender.
- Blend all the ingredients until you get a smooth and well-combined batter. This should take about a minute.
2. Transfer to Baking Dish
- Line a baking dish with parchment paper. I used a glass container that was the perfect size for these brownies.
- Scoop the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
3. Add Toppings (Optional)
- If you want to make the brownies extra chocolatey, sprinkle 2 tablespoons of dark chocolate chunks on top of the batter. This step is optional but highly recommended!
4. Bake the Brownies
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake the brownies for about 10 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center might still be slightly soft.
5. Cool and Serve
- Once baked, let the brownies cool down for a few minutes before cutting them into squares.
- Serve with fresh strawberries for a delicious and nutritious dessert.
- Store any leftovers in the fridge to enjoy later!
